Liberty Financial opening sixth credit union in Louisville

Liberty Financial will open its sixth full-service credit union in the Louisville area on Monday, November 8, in Crestwood. The newest office is located at 6421 West Highway 146. The location, next to South Oldham High School, will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Drive through lanes will be available the same hours. The 6,781 square foot office includes six teller locations, four private offices, and a conference room. Built by Louisville-based Calhoun Construction, it will be managed by Sherrie Latimer. The Crestwood Office can be reached by telephone at (502) 709-6353.

Liberty Financial, which entered the Louisville market in 2018 with the acquisition of two branches of American Founders Bank, also operates offices in Hurstbourne, St. Matthews, Blankenbaker, Brownsboro, and Old Henry. A mortgage-only location is in Norton Commons.

The credit union has more than $2.6 billion in assets and nearly 250,000 members. It is nationally recognized for its mortgage products and, especially, its premium checking, which includes free Vertical Checking that pays 3.30% APY on any deposit up to $20,000 and pays back ATM fees from other institutions. In the past two years, it has been rated among the nation’s top high-interest checking accounts by Newsweek, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, Investopedia, and Forbes.
